Christian Counseling
Are you a Christian who wants to use your faith to guide your emotional healing?
Upset about unanswered prayers? Need help with life's problems?
Have you been wounded in the church & now it’s affecting your walk with God?
Want to talk to someone about it, but don't want to compromise your faith or values?
Worried that talking to someone means you don't have faith in God?
Even Christians need help navigating our life journey. God Knew that every now and then, we would lose our way, become lost and confused about how to get back on track. In His wisdom, He sends exactly what we need, in a way we can receive it. Seeking counseling is biblical (proverbs 11:14, 15:22, 24:6), and allows us to receive support and wisdom from trained professionals who are equipped to do so without judgement, or personal motives.
As Christians, we know that life can and will have struggles (John 16:33), however, God promises that He will see us through, and send us help. Sometimes, that's through a licensed Christian Counselor that can help you figure out healthy ways to get you from where you are to where you need to be. You may be thinking (or others have said), "All the answers are in the Bible and that should be enough. Why go to counseling?" Well, the simple answer is that while the Bible teaches us how worry, depression, grief, abuse and other troubling problems can be addressed scripturally. Unfortunately, the world tries to make us feel weak when we ask for help, or admit that we don't have all the answers. But, that's not God's way. It was never His plan to have us stuck, unhappy, emotionally struggling or overwhelmed. You were never meant to live trapped in depression, anxiety, trauma, or pain.
Christian Counseling seeks to use God’s Word as a foundation for overcoming the sometimes difficult and overwhelming seasons in life. Our services combines traditional counseling and faith to teach you healthy communication and coping skills that are also in line with your spiritual values. Additionally, we assist you with understanding how your spiritual life is impacting your everyday, natural life. Being a Christian while experiencing such struggle can really impact your faith. We've all been there. In a place where your faith may be running thin and you're feeling all alone. You believe in God and you're waiting on His help, His explanation, but where is it? Guess what? You're not alone. So many people feel just as you do, but you were brave enough to reach out say you want something better.
Not to mention, that throughout the bible, the most faithful believers still sought out the help of counselors when they were struggling and needed support. And, according to proverbs 11:14 (NKJV) “Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.” We know that it can be stressful and sometimes embarrassing to share your private problems with a counselor, however, we are trained to not only keep your confidences, but to help you find the answers you’ve been searching for. You've gotten stuck and need help to move forward.
Jeremiah 29:11 states, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. " While His plan does not include harm or pain, sometimes this happens due to our choices or that of others. And when it does, His way is to give us support and help to get THROUGH it so we can accomplish His vision for our lives. As Christians, we want to be sure that whatever guidance and help we get, also keeps us in line with God. So it's necessary that we have someone who shares our values, can give us a biblical view on what we are going through and support our spiritual beliefs.
